Professor Geoff Levermore - Current GA President - The Unitarian Spectrum of Belief

I first went to Norcliffe, Styal chapel in about 2002. Previously my late wife, Carolyn, and I had been going to the local C of E church, having come up from London. The Rev Pat Shaw was giving the service at Norcliffe and her address and the service itself attracted us to Unitarianism. Carolyn soon became the chapel secretary and I helped look after the boiler. As there was not a regular minster at the time I took a few services.

Carolyn sadly died in 2011. In 2019 I married Margaret. We married at Dean Row chapel, not far from Norcliffe, but with a hall for the reception and disabled access for my stepson. We also now go to Dean Row services as well as Norcliffe. I also started taking services at other local chapels, above, and also regularly at Shrewsbury. I have twice chaired the chapel committee at Norcliffe and have been, for a number of years, a member of the Manchester District Association as well as President for a term.
